Nagaland unites in prayer for its youth

Kohima, July 5: Churches across Nagaland on Sunday came together to pray for the future of the state’s young people as the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) Youth Ministry observed its annual Youth Day of Prayer, placing a special focus on the growing challenges confronting Naga youth.

Observed on the first Sunday of July every year, the programme was held in churches across the state, where pastors, youth leaders and congregations offered prayers for students, working professionals and young leaders, seeking God’s guidance, wisdom and protection.

This year’s observance highlighted concerns over unemployment, mental health, migration for education and jobs, and the increasing influence of social media on young people.
Church leaders stressed that youth are not only the future but also the present strength of both the Church and society, urging greater investment in nurturing young people through faith, character and purpose.

Special prayers were offered for career guidance, educational opportunities, spiritual growth and protection from social evils, while churches were encouraged to mentor young people, create platforms to develop their talents and involve them more actively in evangelism and community service.

The statewide observance concluded with a collective prayer for a generation of Naga youth that is spiritually rooted, morally upright and socially responsible, amid growing calls for stronger community support to help young people navigate an increasingly complex world.
