Overall 81.37 percentage votes polled for 2-Tura parliamentary constituency | Details

Tura, April 20: The polling for the Tura Parliamentary Constituency, along with 101 other constituencies of the country concluded on Friday. The Tura parliamentary constituency comprises of 24 assembly segment in the five districts of Meghalaya.

In North Garo Hills, Mendipathar (ST) Constituency witnessed 78.17% voters turnout, while Resubelpara witnessed a turnout of 80.18%, Bajengdoba reported 81.09% voters exercising their democratic right.

In East Garo Hills, Songsak (ST) Constituency recorded a turnout of 83.95% Rongjeng (ST) Constituency registered 35,993 voters, Williamnagar recorded a turnout of 73.44%.

In West Garo Hills, Raksamgre (ST) Constituency witnessed a turnout of 79.89%, Tikrikilla (ST) Constituency registered a turnout of 80.36%. Phulbari (Gen) Constituency recorded a turnout of 84.89%. Rajabala (Gen) Constituency reported turnout of 87.41%. Selsella (ST) Constituency witnessed a turnout of 84.06%, Dadenggre (ST) Constituency recorded a turnout of 83.51%.

The North Tura (ST) Constituency reported 74.64% of voters exercising their franchise. South Tura (ST) Constituency recorded a turnout of 71.54%. Rangsakona (ST) Constituency registered a turnout of 77.90%. Gambegre (ST) Constituency recorded 85.02% of registered voters exercising their franchise. Dalu (ST) Constituency witnessed a turnout of 78.47%.

In total, the Garo Hills region saw a voters turnout of 80.30% across all constituencies, indicating a significant engagement of electorates in the democratic process

In a closely watched contest, the constituencies of Ampati, Mahendraganj, and Salmanpara voters turn out reached 82.97%, 82.08%, and 82.75%, respectively.

Breaking down the numbers, Ampati recorded 51,566 votes casted, while Mahendraganj and Salmanpara witnessed 51,757 and 51,323 votes, respectively.

In Rongara Siju, Chokpot, and Baghmara, voter participation remained lower side with turnouts of 79.25%, 81.61%, and 79.09%, respectively.

The overall turnout for the 2-Tura parliamentary constituency stood at 81.37%.
