Shillong, Nov 24: The State Bank of India (SBI), through its Shillong Module, has extended major support to education and social welfare in Meghalaya by donating a Mahindra Bolero to the Hid Foundation, Shillong and a Star Bus to the NEHU Tura Campus.
The vehicles were handed over today at a ceremony held at the SBI Shillong Main Branch, attended by Ravi Ranjan, Deputy Managing Director (Global Markets), Nand Kishore, Managing Director & CEO of SBI Funds and Prabhas Bose, Chief General Manager of SBI’s Guwahati Circle.

The donation forms part of SBI’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative aimed at improving access to education and strengthening community outreach.
The new bus is expected to significantly ease student mobility at NEHU-Tura, while the Bolero will enhance Hid Foundation’s grassroots programmes.
“SBI’s CSR reflects our commitment to nation-building by empowering local communities through meaningful partnerships,” the bank said in a statement.
