Tura, June 23: The West Garo Hills District Boxing Association, in collaboration with the Meghalaya Boxing Association, will conduct district-level selection trials for both men and women boxers who will represent the state at the 39th National Games, scheduled to be held in Meghalaya in 2027.

The selection trials for the West Garo Hills district will take place on July 8, starting at 9:00 AM at the P.A. Sangma Stadium, Tura.

Announcing the trials, Balnas A. Sangma, Secretary of the West Garo Hills District Boxing Association, urged all interested candidates to participate and come in proper boxing sportswear. The age eligibility for participants is between 17 and 40 years for both men and women.

Participants must bring their original birth certificate and Aadhaar card for verification at the venue.

The trials will be conducted according to the following weight categories:

Men’s Weight Categories:

1.47–50 kg

2.50–55 kg

3.55–60 kg

4.60–65 kg

5.65–70 kg

6.70–75 kg

7.75–80 kg

8.80–85 kg

9.85–90 kg

10.90+ kg

Women’s Weight Categories:

1.45–48 kg

2.48–51 kg

3.51–54 kg

4.54–57 kg

5.57–60 kg

6.60–65 kg

7.65–70 kg

8.70–75 kg

9.75–80 kg

10.80+ kg
