On the other hand, the civil society groups have been putting pressure on the government for an early Naga political solution before the Assembly polls in Nagaland.

Naga People’s Front (NPF) leader Kuzholuzo (Azo) stated their party’s prime objective is for resolution of the Naga political issue and said the party stands committed for the solution first and can make way for any new dispensation, if required, from the party.

Meanwhile, the NDPP has welcomed the joint declaration “Nagas are moving ahead” signed by Q. Tuccu, Chairman of the NSCN and N. Kitovi Zhimomi, Convenor of the Working Committee, NNPG. It is indeed a welcome development that will strengthen unity and understanding within the Naga family and is a significant step in response to the desire of the Naga people for oneness and genuine peace.
