Dibrugarh, Aug 20: The Indian Army launched Exercise Samanvay Shakti 2025 on Wednesday, a civil-military integration initiative aimed at strengthening coordination between security forces, state administrations, and civil institutions in Assam and Manipur. The 10-day exercise was inaugurated at Laipuli and will run simultaneously in Manipur from August 20–30.
The programme seeks to build synergy among diverse stakeholders—including the Army, police, intelligence agencies, NDRF, SDRF, district administrations, medical services, BRO & GREF, Railways, and public sector units such as OIL India, IOCL and Coal India. Representatives from educational institutions and local media are also part of the initiative.
Officials said the exercise will focus on practical rehearsals for disaster management, healthcare, education, forest and irrigation projects, narcotics control, road safety, and public works development. It will also explore employment opportunities in the Armed Forces, promote sports, and refine infrastructure development under Operation Sadbhavna.
According to the Army, Samanvay Shakti 2025 is designed to create unhindered channels of communication, develop refined standard operating procedures, and improve readiness to tackle security and developmental challenges in the Northeast.
Most importantly, officials stressed, the exercise aims to deepen trust between the people of Upper Assam and Manipur and the institutions serving them—reinforcing national integration while contributing to long-term stability and development in the region.
