Shillong, June 10: Sonam Raghuvanshi, the wife of deceased tourist Raja Raghuvanshi and alleged mastermind of the murder, is currently on a three-day transit remand. She will reach Shillong tonight.

The four other accused — identified as Raj Kushwaha (alleged boyfriend of Sonam), Vishal Singh Chauhan, Akash Rajput and Anand Kurmi — are on a six-day transit remand and are expected to reach Shillong with the Meghalaya Police team by Wednesday morning.

East Khasi Hill SP Vivek Syiem, said, “After initial interrogation, all the accused will be taken to the crime scene in Sohra for a detailed reconstruction of the sequence of events leading to the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi”.

Responding to media, Syiem informed post-murder, Sonam took a taxi from Mawkadok to Shillong, then travelled to Guwahati, and boarded a train to Indore. Though she claims to have reached Indore. Her exact trail remains murky and under further investigation.

Also, the other three accomplices reportedly fled from Sohra to Guwahati by taxi and then boarded a train to Indore. Their coordinated but separate movement hints at pre-planned escape logistics.

Syiem confirmed that a dedicated 15–20 member police team has been working round the clock, piecing together digital footprints, call records, and CCTV footage to nail the culprits.
