Dimapur, Oct 18: Factional clashes between two NSCN groups in Nagaland have resulted in the death of 1 militant from the NSCN-K (Niki Sumi) group. As per reports, the clash broke out between the NSCN-Unification and the NSCN-K (Niki Sumi) factions on Sunday night. The slain militant has been identified as Atoka Kinimi from the Niki faction – a breakaway faction from the S.S. Khaplang faction of NSCN.As per reports, the “ambush” took place when the deceased, along with three other members, were on their way to pick up some of their cadres who were “abducted” by the NSCN-U group. Thereafter, the clash happened when Atoka along with three other cadres went in the Kheho camp of NSCN-U and ambushed in order to rescue some of their cadres.
It may be mentioned that a few months ago, about 10 NSCN-K (Niki Sumi) cadres were “abducted” by the NSCN-U group. They were ‘forced’ to sign an agreement to join the group.
