Shillong, June 19: Cabinet Minister and chairman of the expert committee on reservation roster system, Ampareen Lyngdoh on Monday informed that she will have a telephonic conversation with the members of the committee and inquire from various political parties on how are they going to go ahead about the matter.

Mentioning that the government had recently came up with a memorandum, Lyngdoh said that the political parties were given time till Monday to submit their queries either to the chairperson of the committee or to the Chief Minister or the Chief Secretary.

She also stated that they will consolidate all these materials and will look at queries to put forward because before calling an expert committee the government believes that it must understand what are the questions asked by various sectors who will seek information on the latest mind of the government on the evaluation and review of the reservation policy.

The minister also added that this process will take time and that they hope to draw the exact queries and make sure that they have experts from various lines.

The Meghalaya government had constituted a Search Committee to identify members of the Expert Committee for reviewing the State Reservation Policy, 1972.

The three-member search committee will be headed by Chief Secretary DP Wahlang.
