Guwahati, Sept 25: A horrifying incident has came to light in Assam’s Golaghat district on September 2 after miscreant chopped of man’s hand and throw the mutilated hand some 30 meters away from the place of incidence. However, even after 23 days of the incident, police has failed to take any action against the miscreants.
“The 30-year-old youth was riding his motorcycle from Kamarbandha camp and going towards Dhekial Gaon when suddenly a dumper came and miscreants chopped off his hand and threw it in a paddy field,” said a source.

His father filed an FIR at Sumoni police station, but after 23 days have passed, police have failed to take any action against the miscreants.
The victim’s father and mother met with Khumtai MLA Mrinal Saikia and told him about the incident.
Taking to X (former Twitter), Khumtai MLA Mrinal Saikia said, “A brutal crime more chilling than a South Indian action movie, yet @GolaghatPolice police is still low on the incident”.
“Due to the lapse of police, the miscreants who have chopped off the hands of a youth haven’t got arrested till date. Miscreants came in dumper and chopped off the hands of a youth who was on his motorcycle. The victim’s father on September 4, lodged an FIR at Sumoni police station but they failed to take any action against the miscreants. I’ve discussed the matter with Golaghat SP Rajen Singh and he assured me that action would be initiated against the miscreants. The family should get justice and the miscreants should get punishment,” Saikia said.
He said, “Those policemen who have failed to take action should be immediately suspended and lawful action should be taken against them.”
